What a Dibber Education Entails

Traditionally, play and learning have been seen as opposites with the freedom of play on one hand and learning organized by adults on the other. However, at Dibber, we have identified that playful techniques can yield the best results when it comes to early years’ education and care service. As such, we lay great emphasis on structured learning through interactive fun methods to ensure all aspects of a child’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development needs are met.

Dibber's teaching is shaped by the Norwegian curriculum which is considered among the most respected and progressive in the world, topping international rankings.

Why We Learn?

Attending a preschool, like Dibber, ensures your child benefits from an approach focusing on the holistic development of the child. While education and academics are important to us, we strive to provide a balanced environment where children feel secure and not overwhelmed. Learning in our preschools is a joyful experience where children nurture their natural curiosity and embark on an adventurous lifelong journey of learning.

Dibber's teaching is shaped by the Norwegian curriculum which is considered among the most respected and progressive in the world, topping international rankings. This curriculum focuses on developing the whole child by placing equal importance on the academic, physical, emotional, and social well-being of each child.

We strive to build an inviting atmosphere where children feel welcome and secure, where they are encouraged to try new things without the fear of failure, and where new experiences are a part of each day.

How We Learn?

Traditionally, play and learning have been seen as competing objectives with the freedom of play on one hand and learning organized by adults on the other. However, at Dibber, we have learned through extensive research and experience at our 600+ preschools that playful techniques can yield the best results when it comes to early years' education and care services, therefore, we rely on three approaches to learning to guide how we learn; a holistic view of the child, a play based approach, and interactive relationships.

The emphasis on structured learning through interactive, playful methods ensures all aspects of a child's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive developmental needs are met. Play based learning is not simply about cognitive development and traditional transmission of knowledge, but it is a source of experience and competence that contributes to children's learning and development in all areas.

Through play, children learn by using their entire body and all of their senses. They learn to interact and explore social skills, while learning empathy and self-worth.

What We Learn?

The Dibber Curriculum contains six areas of learning: Society and Values; Language and Literacy; Maths; Nature and Science; Motion and Health; and Creativity and Art.

Each of the learning areas is brought to life by a Learning Friend who travels along the learning journey with our children, encouraging them to engage with the content in playful ways and make connections between the learning areas, their own learning, and the world around them.

Where We Learn?

We understand that a well-prepared playing environment is essential for quality learning, therefore, we utilize structure and systems of organization to ensure children are safe and protected.

The children are active participants in creating the environment by sharing their curiosity, interests, and creations, so our learning environment inspires play, learning, and exploration.

We take care to design an exciting and well-structured place that inspires curiosity and interaction providing children the space and opportunity to explore their surroundings, investigate concepts, and feel challenged.

We realize that several types of play are important for children's engagement, development, learning, well being, and level of physical activity.
